Part of COMMA´s monthly events we hosted "A period of sharing" where we offered a free workshop and had donations for menstrual pads/tampons in Cluj.
To bring awareness to the topic of menstrual hygiene and how this luxury item is not that accessible to all.
On 12th of December COMMA hosted it´s monthly event
We had a free workshop on the many options for menstruating girls/women in Romania and around the world. And had a inflow of people come and drop off their donated products.
Among the products showcased during the workshop were the cotton reusable pads and the menstrual cup, while also discussing about the more known such as the one-time use tampons and pads. When discussing menstrual products it´s hard not to also acknowledge the stigma and shame that women around the world feel due to their menstruation.
The outcome from the event
The workshop presented the many options women have and some new products on the market.
We collected a amount of 1,000 menstrual pads/tampons, which have been donated to:
Center for rehabilitation and emergency for survivors of sex trafficing
Emergency shelter for homeless
